In the context of cooperation with Siemens, Globaltechexport Ltd. specialists visited a new workshop in Gorelovo, Leningrad region.
Siemens Gas Turbine Technologies LLC (SGTT), a joint venture of Siemens AG and Power machines JSC, engaged in the manufacture and servicing of heavy-duty gas turbines, set up a new workshop for the repair and restoration of rotor and guide blades of gas turbines. The workshop launch was the next stage in the promotion of the local content in Siemens gas turbine manufacture and servicing.
The SGTT plant will restore and upgrade turbine blades using the Si3D™ technology and applying the latest metal, ceramic, and thermal barrier coatings depending on the gas turbine type and the maintenance and repair concept. With local resources, global experience, and high safety standards, Siemens plans to develop the site by expanding the range of components for restoration. The new workshop will create over 20 additional highly-skilled jobs.
Based on technologies, unique materials, and experience, Siemens has restored over 260,000 rotor and guide blades for its gas turbine fleet around the world in recent years. Now the Company provides the entire blade restoration process in Russia. This enables to reduce equipment repair times and improve the safety, reliability, and efficiency of power facilities.
