Kazan, August 29 — RIA Novosti. A new 230 MW combined-cycle power plant was started at Kazan TPP-1 on Wednesday with the participation of the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak and the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

The facility is included in the list of generating ones used for power supply under capacity delivery agreements (CDA). The project was the second in the Republic implemented under the CDA program. In December 2014, a 220 MW combined-cycle power plant was commissioned at Kazan TPP-2. Investments in such projects will be returned from the wholesale power and capacity market.

The 230 MW combined-cycle power plant at Kazan TPP-1 is the first electric power investment project included in the federal program to support investment projects implemented in the Republic on the basis of project financing. The program provides government guarantees and preferential loans for projects of special social and economic significance for the country.

Globaltechexport Ltd. designed, completed, supplied, installed, constructed, and commissioned the gas treatment equipment which included three Atlas Copco gas booster stations (capacity per compressor unit — 26,000 Nm3/h) with all auxiliary systems: 3 x primary cleaning lines, 2 x gas metering lines, 3 x gas pressure reduction lines, and 3 x fine cleaning lines. The project-specific feature is that the gas treatment equipment and gas booster stations are located in the same building with a single control system.

The Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak and the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov attended the new power unit start-up ceremony.

The leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan highly appreciated the contribution of Globaltechexport Ltd. to the development of the local energy complex.
