Globaltechexport Ltd. is performing the commissioning supervision of the Atlas Copco compressors for the Amur Hydrometallurgical Plant

Globaltechexport Ltd. has concluded a contract with Amur Hydrometallurgical Plant LLC (part of the Polymetal JSC structure) for the performance of the commissioning supervision of the centrifugal multi-shaft Atlas Copco GT series compressors (power — 6 MW, electric drive), installed at the AGMK-2 site.

The AGMK-2 site is located in Amursk about 350 kilometers away from the regional capital, Khabarovsk, and is being created for expansion of the AGMK-1 site production facilities, including with the goal of double refractory ores 100% processing at the enterprises of the Polymetal JSC.

The technological process at the AGMK-2 site is distinguished by the advanced world-class equipment designed to operate at higher pressures and temperatures, including the application of the large and technologically advanced titanium-lined autoclave.

The primary target of works, performed at the end of 2023, was the successful put into operation of the Atlas Copco compressors without the participation of the eponymous equipment manufacturer and equipment supplier (Linde Gas), which, like many other manufacturers from the unfriendly countries, were forced to leave the Russian market due to the existing geopolitical situation, thereby breaking the chain of previously supplied equipment service support and maintenance.

As a result, Globaltechexport Ltd. specialists completed such a non-trivial task in just two months, which became possible not only due to their professionalism, but also due to our vast experience with various automation systems and Atlas Copco compressors at all stages of their design, production, testing, installation, commissioning, put into operation, and maintenance.

The successful completion of the task was preceded by a comprehensive inspection of the Atlas Copco equipment at the site, as well as a detailed study of the source design documentation of Atlas Copco and Linde Gas in English.

The following works were performed as part of the commissioning supervision:

• Assembly check of the compressors and process lines’ pipelines, mechanical and electric equipment;
• Atlas Copco equipment troubleshooting;
• Functional testing of the ACS based on the Siemens SIMATIC S7 controller;
• Functional testing of all compressor units’ utility systems (oil supply, inlet guide vanes, actuating mechanisms and instruments, anti-surge system);
• Actuation checks of safety protections, interlocks, and alarms;
• Checks of the equipment operation in the Customer-required parameters simulation mode;
• Performance of the commissioning supervision with reaching the nominal operation conditions for the equipment;
• Control of equipment parameters compliance with the factory nominal performance characteristics.
