Globaltechexport Ltd. successfully supplied a compressor unit as part of the Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery JSC retrofitting and upgrading project
As part of the combined delayed coking unit retrofitting and upgrading project of Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery, Globaltechexport Ltd. successfully supplied a centrifugal compressor unit, consisting of:
Centrifugal compressor unit as per API 617;
Main explosion-proof electric motor;
Mounting frames (compressor and multiplier are mounted on a common frame, main drive on its own frame, lubrication unit on its own frame);
Common compressor and drive lubrication system as per API 614;
Water cooling system including dual oil cooler and gas cooler;
Shut-off and control valves and instrumentation package;
Compressor shaft seal system and dry gas seal system;
Anti-surge control system;
Compressor vibration monitoring system;
Automated compressor unit monitoring, control, and protection system.
The compressor unit is designed for coking gas compression based on specific process parameters and characteristics.
The General Designer and design and detailed documentation developer of the Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery project is Samaraneftekhimproekt JSC. Alongside with equipment supply, Globaltechexport Ltd. provided all initial data for the equipment design including process piping and external interfaces.
Due to the fact that the pumped gas is highly corrosive (contains hydrogen sulfide), the compressor unit is made of appropriate corrosion-resistant steels. In addition, the compressor meets international API 617 and API 614 standards.
Main compressor unit specifications:
- Medium – heavy hydrocarbon coke oven gas;
- Inlet operating pressure – 0.314 MPa (g);
- Outlet operating pressure – 1.2 MPa (g);
- Capacity – 21,704 kg/h;
- Electric motor power – 1,600 kW.
